Springs Hosting successfully completes SOC 2 audit

We’re excited to share that Springs Hosting has completed our SOC 2 examination for 2025. Since 2017 we’ve maintained SOC 1 compliance, and moving into SOC 2 is a major step forward in showing customers how seriously we take operational and security controls inside our data center.

Scope of the report
Examination of Springs Hosting’s Colocation and Managed Services systems throughout the period July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025, including the design and operating effectiveness of controls to meet the Trust Services Criteria for Security, along with the essential elements of HIPAA and HITECH.

A-LIGN led the audit. They work with thousands of organizations, and we appreciate the clarity they bring to the process.

Surprise visit from above!

This past Sunday, we had a surprise visit from the Labor Day Liftoff balloon festival. “The balloon gradually landed right in the corner of our parking lot,” said Brad Johnson of Springs Hosting. Doug Gantt was piloting the massive pink balloon in the shape of a pig, nicknamed the “Ham-Let.” Since hot air balloons travel where the wind takes them, it’s up to the pilot to find a suitable landing area to unload passengers safely. “It was pretty amazing to see the balloon up close,” Johnson added. The pilot left a bottle of champagne for our staff and gave his thanks for the short term use of the parking lot. Cheers Doug and we hope everyone had a fantastic Labor Day!

Woodland Park School District Wi-Fi Project Completed

Springs Hosting was awarded the Woodland Park School District Wi-Fi project in July of 2016. We partnered with Cisco to provision 200+ access points across multiple locations within the expanding school district. “Springs Hosting delivered a solid Wi-Fi solution that refreshed our entire wireless infrastructure in a timely manner and at a competitive cost. Their technical skill set, friendly and attentive customer service made this deployment a breeze!”, said Ed Waltman, Systems Administrator at WPSD. The new enterprise-class wireless access points are easy to configure and maintain in the cloud by the WPSD staff through centralized management. The security focused access points feature high power radios built for high-density environments delivering nearly 2 Gbps of throughput per radio.

Woodland Park School District is part of a growing list of schools in Colorado that entrust Springs Hosting to provide enterprise solutions that benefit thousands of students and teachers in Colorado. New Chiller Project Completed

On June 1, 2016, the Springs Hosting data center chiller project was completed. “The new state-of-the-art liquid cooling system is up to sixty-percent more efficient compared to that of its refrigerant based predecessor. APC InRow cooling units have been added throughout the facility to maintain precise temperatures to customer equipment.” said Juston Vogt, Director of Construction with Critical Facilities Technology (CFT). Juston continued, “a complete custom containment system has been installed to regulate airflow and isolate rows of the data center environment.” CFT engineered and implemented a custom solution tailored to Springs Hosting’s data center environment. “CFT has been an indispensable partner overseeing this complex project to guarantee all of the vendors were on schedule. The increased capacity and added redundancy is crucial to keep pace with our data center expansion projects.” said CEO Don Brown at Springs Hosting. We would also like to give a special thanks to Schneider Electric, Motivair, Western Mechanical, and Olson Plumbing and Heating for their experience and tireless efforts to deliver a first-class product.

On May 5, 2016, the Springs Hosting data center was listed for central-station alarm services (UL 827) by the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) through their stringent auditing process. UL enforces rigorous regulations for alarm service companies and restricts hosting to approved data centers certified with UL 827.
