What is a Dedicated Server?
A dedicated server is a type of Internet hosting where an entire server is leased and not shared with anyone else. It is more flexible than shared hosting as you have full control over the server including the choice of operating systems, hardware, etc. Springs Hosting provides a full time administrator for your managed dedicated server to perform updates and regular maintenance duties.
Why would I use a dedicated Server?
In many cases, a dedicated server can offer far less overhead and a larger return on investment for your company. It does not require your company to own the server equipment as you would in a colocation arrangement. It does give you the same benefits of collocation in that you are not sharing your servers resources with anyone else.
Can I still use the tools in my shared hosting account with a dedicated server?
Yes, you can use all the tools associated with your shared hosting account and add in the benefits of a dedicated server.
What types of dedicated servers are available at Springs Hosting?
All dedicated servers are Dell™ servers. We currently use the Dell SC1435 with AMD Processors and the Dell 1950 III with Xeon Processors depending on your preference and needs. Other servers are available if you have higher requirements. We have other Dell models available upon request.
